Overview
Two-month paid summer internship in UK government departments through the Civil Service Fast Stream's social mobility programme.
Real research, project and policy work alongside civil servants. Locations across the UK depending on placement department. July to August 2026.
£452 per week.
Students in the final two years of university with predicted/awarded 2:2 or above in any subject. Must meet ONS social mobility measures (lower socio-economic background).
Online application via Civil Service Fast Stream portal.
Highly selective. very strong conversion rate into the full Fast Stream graduate scheme.
The single most direct route into the Fast Stream for students from lower socio-economic backgrounds. the SDIP/SCS conversion rate is excellent.
