- Full UK-rate tuition fees plus a stipend of £17,096 towards living and study expenses.
Eligibility breakdown
- To be eligible to apply for the Bartlett Promise scholarship, candidates must meet all the following criteria: Be UK domiciled with home fee status or be a forced migrant (check FAQs for definition) in the UK.
- Have a UCL offer of admission to a Bartlett master’s course beginning in September of the 2027-28 academic year.
- Have not completed a master’s degree (including integrated master’s degrees and degrees sometimes known as “undergraduate master’s), or a PhD at UCL or anywhere else previously.
- Have an assessed household income of less than £42,875, Be from a Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic background, Be from a Gypsy, Roma or Traveller community, Have a disability, Be care experienced, Have care responsibilities, Be the first generation of their family to attend university at undergraduate level, Be the first generation of their family to attend university at postgraduate level.

Timeline
- The application process will open again for the 2027-28 academic year on 1 March 2027, and close on 1 June 2027.
- Applications for the Bartlett Promise master’s scholarship will open on 1 March and close on 1 June 2027 at 23:45 BST.
- Applications for master’s courses will open in October 2026.
Competitiveness
- Up to ten scholarships are awarded each year for the Bartlett Promise Master’s Scholarship.
- Up to two extra scholarships are also awarded via our partnership with the Aziz Foundation.
- Up to ten scholarships are available to students starting in September 2027.
