RSMA Annual Exhibition 2026 — Open Call

Prize fund of over £5,000 across multiple awards including the RSMA New Generation Award for artists aged 35 or under.

Open call for artists to exhibit at Mall Galleries, London alongside RSMA members. Subject must be inspired by the sea and marine environment — harbours, shorelines, traditional craft, contemporary shipping, creeks, beaches, wildlife, tidal water, maritime industry, shipbuilding, safety at sea, crew, RNLI, NCI and related coastal subjects. Selected work is shown in-gallery and online. New Generation Award open to artists aged 35 or under; Charles Pears Award and Mall Galleries/FBA Award open to non-members.

Online submission only. Upload JPEG/PNG images under 5MB — one full-work image required, up to two extra detail images allowed. Include title, medium, size in cm, year of completion, price and optional description.

National open call. Submissions open Mon 13 Apr 2026 12 noon and close Fri 24 Jul 2026 12 noon. Notification of selection Fri 7 Aug 2026 12 noon.

A career-defining exhibition for early-career marine artists — and the New Generation Award is one of the highest-profile under-35 prizes in the genre.

Subject must be inspired by the sea / marine environment. Selected work delivered unwrapped to Mall Galleries, 17 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1Y 5BD on Sat 5 Sep 2026, 10am–5pm. Exhibition runs 16–26 Sep 2026; private view Wed 16 Sep 2026, 5–8:30pm.
