Overview

upReach is a UK social mobility charity that gives undergraduates from lower socio-economic backgrounds long-term, personalised employability support across their entire degree, not a one-off workshop.

Structure & format

Application support, mock interviews, CV help, exclusive networking and work experience opportunities, mentoring, and sector-specific programmes in Banking & Finance, Engineering, Insurance, Law and Technology. Supports applications for internships, spring weeks and graduate schemes.

Pay & benefits

Completely free for accepted Associates.

Eligibility

Full-time undergraduate students aged 18+ on their first degree at a UK university. Must have attended UK state schools only (or since age 14 if educated abroad), household income below £42,620, minimum BBB at A-Level equivalent (contextualised), and GCSE Maths & English at grade 4/C or above. Primarily aimed at first-year students.

Application process

Rolling online application via upreach.org.uk, open 24/7. Followed by an interview before becoming an Associate.

Why this matters

One of the most consistently effective social mobility programmes in the UK, Associates are statistically much more likely to land top-tier grad schemes than peers from similar backgrounds.
