Degree required: 2:2 and above (expected); Most of your learning will be on the job, supported by your mentor and the teams around you. You’ll have a chance to apply your academic training to genuine industry problems while completing modules that contribute towards your degree. Supporting improvements to safety through communications campaigns, training, and other improvement projects. Controlling system chemistry to achieve our lifetime ambition and support a wide range of industrial lab analytical techniques. Building the skills necessary to support a wide range of teams to provide advice on chemical control and chemical safety. Assisting in running, maintaining, and developing the condition monitoring programme. Automation of data acquisition to support improved station efficiencies to maximise our zero-carbon output.

What you'll do
  • It powers schools, businesses and hospitals, so I knew that if I did my placement within EDF then I would have a really large impact on society.
Eligibility
  • To be eligible for this EDF industrial placement you should be on track to achieve, or have already achieved, a 2:2 undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Chemistry.
  • It is a requirement that those who join us have the right to work in the UK.
  • Whilst sponsorship may be a possibility, we reserve the right in our decisions to give priority to those who already have the right to work in the UK.
  • To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least three of the past five years.
  • Should you disclose a disability and meet the minimum criteria (which will include holding a relevant degree discipline/grade and achieving the required pass mark for Stage 1 Testing) for the role you’ll be progressed to the first stage of the selection process.
